HEXPOL TPE’s factory in Lichtenfels, Germany received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS) in October.
ISCC PLUS is a global certification scheme that provides supply chain traceability and guarantees the correct and transparent use of mass balance methods. All companies in the supply chain must go through ISCC
PLUS audit process, which means that when HEXPOL TPE is purchased through ISCC
When PLUS certified raw materials, all upstream entities will be verified. Sustainability claims establish the chain of custody from the origin to the brand owner.
The mass balance allows for a gradual increase in the non-original fossil share of the polymer, with the goal of gradually reducing the use of fossil raw materials. This certification allows HEXPOL TPE to be produced through mass balance methods and certified by ISCC
PLUS certified bio-based, recycled and/or bio-recycled TPE materials.

HEXPOL TPE will offer mass-balanced grades of Dryflex TPE (TPS, TPO and TPU) material combinations. Epseal designed for food and beverage sealing applications
TPE is also within the range. Mass Balance TPE offers customers a highly efficient material alternative whose technical properties, chemical composition and regulatory status will be identical to the corresponding fossil grade.

Following the HEXPOL TPE Swedish factory receiving ISCC PLUS certification in 2021, the company has once again expanded the range of mass-balanced products.
