Tesla wireless charger uses TPU

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is the core component of the company’s aftermarket solutions Part, to improve the performance of the Tesla Wireless Charger Model 3. The product was developed by a group of non-Tesla engineers and designers.

The Tesla Wireless Charger Model 3 has a non-slip TPU coating and can be used with a variety of devices that comply with the Qi standard (wireless charging standard), such as the Apple iPhone 8, iPhone X, and Samsung Galaxy series.

“The non-slip TPU coating design allows the ridges and textures to create a shock absorption effect that keeps the phone in place,” Tesla said.

The wireless charger uses Tesla’s front USB interface, allowing two mobile phones to be charged at the same time. In addition, it is also compatible with both FCC and CE.

Tesla’s wireless charger Model 3 will be launched in April, and its R&D team is working on developing versions for Model S and Model X
